But...

The made her into his cabbage head girl who is rough and violent! She's still cute! Very cute in fact.

Despite being really busy, i managed to squeeze time to watch this great K-drama!

Another 16 episode romance comedy drama with Kim Sun Ah (from My name is Kim Samsoon) and Lee Dong Wook (from My girl). I love both of them!

Just finished episode 2 and i can't wait for episode 3, can't wait for Ji Wook to fall in love with Yeon Jae, they've finally met in Okinawa!!!! Honestly, i don't think Yeon Jae is going to die in 6months as its only a grim prognosis by the doctor who later fall in love with her too.

Too many dramas to catch up with lately which explains for the lack of manga summaries. haha.

This feels like another Hana Kimi (Japan Version) and did i mention before? Japan did a remake of Hana Kimi and its called Hana Kimi 2011. hahah.

In my opinion, Japanese drama is going down hill in recent years. I don't know, their story/plot are just not appealing enough as compared to Korean dramas. Oh! I think i know the reason! Korean male leads are so so so much more drooling!!! haha.

I've just watched the first episode of Ikemen Desune.

It's like a copy of the Korean version!

In the Japanese version, Gu Minam wore the same blue and white nun costume which she wore in the Korean version. All the nice addictive songs are now with Japanese lyrics. Japanese Jeremy has the same bleached golden hair with occasional singular stock sprouting out on top of his head when he's home. The home setting is similar too. Similarity extends till their boss who speaks with a mix of single English word with Japanese.

How do you like the Japanese Ikemen? Well, i guess the production team has put in much effort in the selection of cast (much better then those from Hana Yori Dango imo) thou i still very much prefer the Korean version. hahah

You need to watch this new MBC drama, Heartstrings starring Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye!!!

Synopsis: (adapted from various scource)
Jung Yong Hwa plays a university student, Lee Shin, majoring in modern music who is also the vocalist and guitarist of the school's famous band "The Stupid". Shin is know for his good looks and strong passion for music but in reality he is cold and lacks interest in everything unrelated to music. In the initial part of the drama, he likes Jung Yoon Soo, a dance professor in his university but things starts to change after he meets Lee Gyu Won.

Park Shin Hye plays a bright and outgoing student, Gyu Won, who is born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Gyu Won’s grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy.

Trying to live up to her grandfather’s expectations, Gyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of “The Stupid”, she was forced to go to the band’s concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him.

Park Shin Hye is so cute, my current favourite Korean Actress and i love her hair in this drama!

I'm currently at ep. 4 and Gyu Won is starting to fall for Lee Shin. *woohoo* though she's still in the self-denial stage.

Things start to change for Lee Shin as well. Smiles can be seen more frequently on Lee Shin's face after he met Gyu Won and she ended up being his slave. (She lost a bet). As much as he enjoys "torturing" her, Lee Shin is still pretty much in love with a older woman, a dance professor and he kissed her at the end of ep. 4 and Gyu Won happened to hitch a ride from the director (director & dance professor used to be lovers) and she witnessed the kiss!

Lee Shin found out about the director and the dance professor's past and now he wants to be part of the performance which he initially rejects in order to protect the woman he loves (the dance professor, who is the dance instructor of the performance) from the director. The director seems to have a liking for Gyu Won, because of her talent? Or is it because of her personality?

A typical light hearted, romance drama with a typical and predictable plot and story line but isn't this what we love? (Ok, it's what I LOVE).

A cute and bubbly female lead, who ends up being the slave (not by choice) of the male lead whom she dislike initially. Soon she finds herself falling in love with him after she sees his gentleness beneath his cool and mean front. A cool yet popular male lead, who has his heart set for some very beautiful and sophisticated looking woman who is fragile and needs a man to protect her. He enjoys torturing the female lead and soon notices the change in himself.

Now i can't wait for Lee Shin to abandon the professor and fall in love with Gyu Won and i hope the director can spice it up by being biased towards Gyu Won! Only 2 eps. a week. What a torture!

According to Hancinema, the ratings is poor which i don't understand why. Though it's a typical plot but isn't it norm for K-drama which a typical plot? Park Shin Hye is cute and Jung Yong Hwa is cool! Hope the ratings can pick up soon.

Marry Me, Mary!

A new Korean Drama starring Jang Geun Suk!!!!

It is based on an internet comic "Maerineun Uibakjoong" by Won Su-Yeon who is also the author of "Full House".

The Plot:

The drama is about Mary who "got married" with two men to pay off her father's debts.

Mu-Gyul - A lead vocalist and guitarist for a rock band. He is chic and lives a carefree bohemian lifestyle. He doesn't talk much and only wants to make music. Mu-Gyul doesn't care about success. He also suffers trauma with his mother and, because of this, becomes tired of the women he dates and leaves them.

Jung-In - The president of music company JI Entertainment producing a music drama. Jung-In was born into a wealthy family and has never lacked money. Jung-In is also good looking and has good manners. Because of this, Jung-In appears to be highly eligible bachelor for marriage.

During Mary's first 100 days of marriage to two men, Mary starts to fall in love with Mu-Gyul. Then while working as Jung-In's secretary, she starts to develop feelings for him as well. Mary finds herself torn between two different men with different types of charm.

Seo-Jun - a sexy and sophisticated actress who broke up with Mu-Gyul about a year ago, but still occasionally attends his performances without his knowledge. She makes a contract for a drama produced by Jung-In. Seo-Jun starts to develop feelings for Jung-In in a bizarre love triangle

I've just watched the first episode, a comedic romance drama which i think there's a lot of potential. Can't wait for the story to move on faster so i that i can see both Jung-In and Mu-Gyul falling head and heels over Mary!

Jang Geun Suk as a guitarist for a rock band! *faintz* What more can i ask for... hahaha he contributed to a lot of hilarious moments in the f1st episode alone. LOL.

イタズラなKiss (Playful/Mischevious Kiss) - Korean Drama (Special)

Press conference was held at Megabox Co-Ex Mall (Seoul, South Korea) on November 1, 2010 to promote a special YouTube version of "Mischievous Kiss". Starting on November 2 and running through November 18th, three episodes will be released per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7pm via YouTube. The special version will contain a total 9 episodes (last two episodes will be "making of Mischievous Kiss") and each episode will run for 10 minutes.

Mars

I receive a request from Gally_gr01 from france to post the opening song of the drama Mas here and so i thought i can do a brief intro about the manga and drama.

Mars a Japanese manga series by Fuyumi Soryo was serialized in Bessatsu Friend from 1996 to 2000 and the series spans 15 tankubon volumes.

The story is about Kira Aso (麻生キラ - heroine) and Rei Kashino (樫野零 - hero) meet when Rei asks Kira for directions to a local hospital one day in the park, but instead of telling him the directions she draws him a map and hands it to him without saying a word. On the back of the directions is a picture Kira drew of a mother and child. On the first day of school they are both surprised to find that they are in the same class.In school Kira was sexually harrassed by a teacher and Rei came to her rescue. He also offers to "lend Kira his body" and she asks him to model for her.They began to grow fond of each other but each of them had a secret past that needed to be addressed and overcome before they could accept and love one another freely

The series was adapted into a 21 episode Taiwanese television drama in 2004, titled 战神 - MARS.

Starring: Vic Zhou as Rei Kashino, renamed as Chen Ling and Barbie Hsu as Kira Aso, renamed as Han Qi Luo.

Mar as a manga is a classic - heart wrenching and depressing. One of my favourite manga as well and sure i was thrilled when i know it's going to made into a live action drama however i wasn't too thrill when Barbie Hsu is the female lead. =P I'm not a fan of Barbie Hsu and not to mention, she's the female lead for Hana Yori Dango (Taiwan Version) too! Vic Zhou's Rui in Hana Yori Dango (Taiwan Version).

君に届け - The live action movie

君に届け - The live action movie hit the theaters in Japan last weekend, 25th Sept.

and i managed to catch it today!

with a pack of chips and hot tea.

The movie is 2 long hours and i like it even though the story line is not exactly same as the manga. The first half of the movie, up till the sports day had followed the manga pretty closely but not the second half. Bits and pieces of the Christmas eve party, the New Year Eve and the confessions are all pieced together which makes up the second half of the movie. Well, the movie makers need to make do with 2 hours of screen time so i guess that's inevitable.

There was zero screen time for the school summer festival which also means there wasn't Sawako's confession which happened in the classroom and i'm a tab disappointed as it's one of my favourite part in the manga. The confession for the movie, i'm not impressed. Seriously, i was expecting something more from Kazehaya Kun.

My favourite scene is the toilet scuffle from which Yano and Chizu save Sawako. I think it made my eyes teary. (/_;)/ I like Mikako Tabe as Kuronuma Sawako. She's cute sure does have the Sawako's look. As for Haruma Miura as Kazehaya Shota... well, i'm not a fan of Haruma Miura even though i used to like him in Koizora but without the tanned and bleach white hair, he's kind of not my cup of tea thus, i shan't comment on him. =P

For the other casts, i think they did a fairly good job other than ping? Ping, the homeroom teacher, i like him in the manga and anime but not in the movie. I think the guy who play this role, i cannot remember his name and i can't be bothered to look it up, is a little to old. I thought Ping is suppose to be this young, humorous and full of himself kind of teacher?

The team in charge of the cast's hair and clothing, they deserve alot of credit. The cast's hairstyle are almost similar to the manga especially for Kurumi, long and fluffy hair is one of her triad marks. Sawako had her hair tied up as a bun during sports day and wore a cute poncho on New Year's Eve in the movie too even though it's grey instead of white.

All in all, i think it's a nice movie with tears filled moments and ドキドキ (doki doki) times too!

Oh, and if you will be catching the movie when it's up in your country, you might like to seat through the credits as there will be one sweet final scene after all the credits are rolled out. I not sure but in my home country, the little red dot, we leave our seats once the movie ended and not care about the credits but it's not the case in Japan. They seat through and watch the credits!!! I was shocked the first time and i was watching Indiana Jones then, it took a good 10mins for the all the credits to roll out and no one left the theater and neither did any one laugh or whisper through out the movie even though it was a comedy!!! My guess, the subtitles must be boring. hah.

Fall is definitely my favourite season. Gossip Girl Season 4 - The undergraduates. Caught Season 4 Episode 2 last night and i'm totally diggin' it.

My favourite scene.

Blair tells Chuck that she doesn’t love him anymore, but adds, “It wouldn’t be my world without you in it.” In a tear filled moment, the two finally part ways.

I hope Eva is a real deal and not just another pretender though i too want Blair back with Chuck.

イタズラなKiss (Playful/Mischevious Kiss) - Korean Drama

イタズラなKiss (Itazura Na Kiss) one of my favourite Japanese Manga

and Drama.The Japanese version was filmed in the year 1996 starring Aoki Shinsuke and Kashiwabara Takashi. It was my favourite drama then. I think i watched it when i was in JC (high school) which is about 10 years ago! Time flies!

I've watched the Taiwan version too

and now there is a Korean version!

Starring Kim Hyun Joong and Jung So Min. omg... how to miss any drama starring Kim Hyun Joong. I must say the casts win both the Japanese version and Taiwan version hands down, at least for the leading male actor.

The drama was debuted yesterday, 1st September and i just caught the 1st episode today! However, Playful Kiss receives devastatingly low rating with a viewer rating of 3.5%. I think it's too early to judge and i have high hopes with Korea remaking this drama after the success of Hana Yori Dango and many of their romance shoujo-like dramas.

You're Beautiful

You are warned. This entry is just me being bimbotic and a crazy fan of the Korean Drama, You're Beautiful or should i say Jang Geun Suk. heh.

I'm HEART this Korean Drama!!! I was aired in Korean during 4th quarter of 2009. I tell you... I regret to only watch it now!!!! and the reason for the delay... is... below.

This flat and oily hairstyle of Hyung Tae Kyung!!!! omg! I'm really not a fan of this hairstyle and him with this unflattering hairstyle appears in most of the posters and adverts for the drama!!! Why?!?! and the eyeliner on the lower lid too.

However, a short conversation with my friend and she convinced me that the drama is really good. She told me it's like Hana Yori Dango (Korean Version). I'm a fan of Hana Yori Dango if you haven't know. haha.

Now i'm addicted to the drama and i've watched it about two to three time.

First time: Too eager to know the developments and i fast forward when there is no Hyung Tae Kyung, Go Mi Nam and Kang Shin Woo.
Second time: Watch every minute and every second of it.
Third time: Watch my favourite scenes over and over again!

p/s: There is this thing about hooties in Korea. Was in Korea during May and i realised 1 out of 10 youngsters are wearing the hooties on their head. Must be the influence of dramas.

omg! look at the smile! So charming! This hairstyle is nice!!!! and after a few episodes i've grown to like his eye make up (eyeliner on lower lid) which i initially dislike!

Favourite scenes:
1. The kiss after the movie... Tae Kyung pretends to hit Mi Nam so that she can see stars however he kisses her instead and half way through the kiss he told her not to do the pig rabbit thing!!! That's so unexpected and so cute!

2. Tae Kyung chased after Mi Nam who was set up by Manager Ma to go to Busan with Shin Woo. Tae Kyung hugs her at the car park. The grin on his face... so charming and cute!

3. Tae Kyung held Mi Nam's hand to guide her back to her room when her eyes were hurt by the oilment which was meant for her bruise.

4. Tae Kyung found Mi Nam (when she was dress up in the beautiful gown), he said he acknowledges her love and gives her permission to like him. He then hugs her! The same grin on his face again!

5. When he drove the sick Mi Nam to the hospital! Protagonist falls sick, my favourite plot. haha.
