N sees R sitting alone and wonders if he's crying. She's convinced that he's crying after recalling that he had already broken up with A. She wanted to use the hose to spray water on R so that others can't tell that he's crying.
R insist that he isn't crying.
H is think about R and A's break up and on the other hand she's thinking about hugging K.
H came to find K naturally. She decides not to tell K about anything so that it will not cause him unnecessary worries. She sees a pin on K's hair. *he looks so so so cute with the pin!!!* K's classmate lend him the pin as his hair is too long. H pretends to be angry about it as she enjoys making K's a little bit of trouble. She turns around and K is missing!
H wonders is she went overboard. K pushes H against the wall and said: "Hatori-chan, you loose."
K: "You should let me win once in a while."
H: "When did i ever win?"
K: "I'm not telling you."
H thinks to herself: When i'm with K, he seems to always allow me to be myself and making me willful. SOrry R, i'm very happy now."
R out from the bathroom and he received a call from A.
He picks up the phone.... *i wonder what happen*
It's going to be Christmas soon.
H in the toilet is wonder what she should do for Christmas with he first boyfriend and she heard some conversations outside talking. They are talking about R and A. A is absent from school again and they are putting the blame on R.
H urged them to stop talking bad about R when they don't even know him well enough. The girls starts to say that H is to blame as well.
News starts to spread in the school and everyone thinks that R is the bad guy. H is really pissed off and she swears to stop all these rumors.
H feels sad seeing R being bullied by their schoolmates. H dislike herself for not being able to do anything for R and she's always able to be by R's side when anything happens but not now.
N joins R when she sees him squatting at one corner listening to music. She asked if it's really ok for him to just let others bad mouth about him. He said he's fine with that as he thinks that he's really the worst for what he had done. R warns N not to hang around with him if not she might also be targeted however N decides to hang out with him.
They spend their time at the arcade center.
R starts to talk to N about the phone call from A. It's actually from A's parents. They scolded R for hurting their daughter. R thinks that it's natural for them to be mad at him. R then took out a letter to show N. The letter is from A. Seems like her parents confiscated her phone and she apologized on behalf of her parents for scolding R.
In the letter A wrote: Like how R told H that you will always stand by H. I will always stand by R. Now i too hope for H to be happy. I'm sure K will be mad if he sees this letter.
R thinks that it's best for A if she had nothing to do with him. Now, she is still only thinking about him.
R thinks that since junior high school onwards, he's not responsible enough.
N thinks that he's silly to think this way. She tells R to lift up his head and listen carefully.
N: "One has to be defeated before tasting success. It is not totally redundant to go out with a useless guy....
... reassured. A is able to find a better guy next time, life is long.
R: "N is like a granny."
N: "Are you trying to pick up a fight?"
R: "Thank You Nakajima."
R: "You seems to have saved me by calling me BAKA."
N blushed a little and she wonder if her mother nature causes her to care for R and wonders what's with R's smile just now.
R thanks N for keeping him company. N is having flashes for R's smile when he said thank you.
Someone shouted "Kyouko!"
It's R, he pulled N back quickly and a car drove past. It's still red light when she wanted to cross the road.
Kyouko is N's name which she uses in junior high school. She uncomfortable with people calling her by that name now.
R: "Be careful on your way home, Kyouko-chan." (he's doing it on purpose.)
H, on the train and she's thinking about R. She wonders how is he doing and if he's feeling miserable alone.
K calls H when she's thinking about R. K tells H that he's alighting at the next station. H blames herself for thinking about R when she's with K. K asked H if she's worried about R since just now.
K: "Hatori-chan, if you are so worried about Terasaka, why don't you stay by his side?"
K: "You can come back to me anytime. What's your reply?"
H rushes out of the train to hug K and replied with a loud yes.
K: "This is bad, you've alighted."
H: "I love K the most!"
K kisses H.
H thinks to herself "Wait for me R, tomorrow onwards i will be by your side!"
On the other hand, N keeps telling herself, no it can't be, no it can't be.

Great, I can see a RitaxNakajima ending... or actually, let it be RitaxNakajima. That way Hatori will stay with Keisuke.
Please... don't let Hatori waver. Rita can suffer as much as I don't care.
Seriuosly, it would be so cliche and prefictable if hatori went back to rita. I just wish this manga will rise above those ckiches abd aim for a more realistic and intelligent ending. Unless Keisuke turned into a big jerknand cheated or did something terrible, having Hatori waver would only make her seem "s***y" and a man user, since she would lookmlike she used K as a rebound.
I know it'd be cliche if Hatori went back to Rita and I don't know if I'd rly want that. He seems like a guy who'd fall for anyone who's rly nice to him... But rly? With her bff? No, I don't wanna see that ending. I had faith in Nakajima and now it seems like she's falling for him and everything happens for those 2 to end up together... It'd be a much better ending for me if Rita decided to be alone and mature or something >_> Not this... Even if I were over the guy (and let's be real, Hatori isn't) I'd feel rly hurt if my bff went out with him. Just no. So I rly hope it won't be like that otherwise I'll be sooooo disappointed... Hatori notices that Rita and Nakajima can end up together and realizes that she does love Rita and does not want to lose him over to Nakajima. This goes to show that Hatori and Rita are the same. lol
Yay!! Thank you so much!! Two whole chapters of Heroine Shikkaku; this really made my day! But...Rita and...Nakajima?!!! I have to admit, never in a million years did I see that one coming. I really hope that does not happen because it just feels so wrong.
As far as Hatori, I'm actually kind of rooting for a RitaxHatori ending now, which surprises me. It's not that I like Rita suddenly, but rather that those two seem to belong together somehow. The Hatori/Kousuke relationship just doesn't excite me the way I thought it would. As for Adachi, she continues to be an annoying hypocrite. I really despise how she approaches Hatori for a meaningful "conversation" whenever she feels insecure about her relationship with Rita. She and Hatori have never been friends, but she insists on pretending they are when she thinks it will benefit her. She has done it twice before that I remember, but this last time was the most transparent.
I always think back to how Adachi always said she would respect Rita's feelings no matter who he chose. Well, Adachi has known for some time that Rita loves Hatori - she is not a fool - and she was perfectly willing to "guilt" him into staying with her even it made him miserable. So, I'm really gratified that Rita finally broke up with her. Maybe now she will stop being a co-dependent leech and get some self-respect.
It feels like the author is, perhaps, unsure of how to end the story at this point. I hope she is able to pull it all together for a satisfying conclusion.

Thank you for the summary updates. I can't wait to read the next part, but at the same time I'm repulsed by the idea of NakajimaxRita. I didn't really see it coming and now I feel like the author is throwing plot around or else trying to show that Rita will fall for anyone who's convenient for him.
Rita's really selffish(not to mention fickle)and I was hoping that he end up with karma biting him in the neck. Although at the same time, I want Hatori to end up with him because I didn't want the first half of this series so far to be in vain (since she's been chasing him like crazy...guess he likes to chase...or I could be wrong). I have to agree with what Mikimata said, "As far as Hatori, I'm actually kind of rooting for a RitaxHatori ending now, which surprises me. Hatori with Keisuke is good too, but I feel like there's something missing. Hecks, I think she deserves someone better than both guys, but if she were to go with personality-wise then stick with Keisuke, the better of the worst choices.(I'm not trying to imply that Keisuke is a bad boyfriend, but the playboy part just don't sit well with me if one were to look at it realistically...) These are just my thoughts, and I may change them if things get better.
As for Nakajima, I really respected her character but now it just seems like she's what she is, a teenager who's also got the hots for love. I'm disappointed by this. There's nothing wrong with her loving anyone, but seriously Rita is not a good choice to stand by.(She of all people should know what he's like after he's been treating her bff like trash and breaking hearts left and right...) I don't want her to end up with Rita as mafierry have said how I felt about this situation.
As for Adachi, I can't help but pity her because she's really a loner but at the same time I don't want to pity her since she's walloping up enough in her own sorrow already(I find it sad and annoying at the same time). I wonder what will unfold from here.(I know these characters are less than perfect, which makes them seem more human to a certain extent.)
Eh i don't like the direction this is going. I don't hane anything against KousukexHatori, but she behaves somewhat artificially. And well Rita feels like a sh*t now, but please i don't wanna see him paired up with Nakajima. This idea somehow creeps me out. I want him chasing after Hatori but he's too lazy and hopeless i guess.
Adachi is annoying and melodramatic so i don't pity her. Girl get a grip, Rita is not only one in this world. As alway i say "this flower is half the world"

and then i read this chapter and was like.. omg totally postponing this crap for about 6 months now. I MEAN, NAKAJIMA SERIOUSLY??!?!?!?!?!!? I WOULD'VE PREFERRED IT IF SHE STARTED LIKING KOUSUKE INSTEAD BUT RITA?!?!?!?!? FKSAKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I totally love Kousuke, he's been so good to Hatori and really cares for her and god, if he's no cute! I'm rooting for him wholeheartedly. He's such a wonderful guy but I keep getting this feeling Hatori still likes Rita a lot ;AAA;

So... somehow, I feel like the story ended for me last chapter. Rita realizing too late that his douchey behavior cost him the girl he likes with the Adachi collateral damage to boot. Maybe, he'll come out of this experience wiser and with maturity he'll take into his next relationship. Maybe he'll find his way back to a real friendship with Hatori. But I don't want them together romantically, ever. Not because H belongs with K or any such nonsense, but because the two of them together bring out the very worst parts of each other. They can only love each other selfishly and through baggage that's accumulated through years of codependency and dishonesty. It just feels like putting them together would be a regression, falling into old habits and picking up old patterns, and stifling the truly remarkable growth each has managed over the course of the story.
I disliked H at the beginning, and I've disliked R for most of the story, but there is nothing quite like honesty with oneself to go a long way towards rehabilitating a character. So, I may come around on R, but nothing will convince me that it isn't the best and healthiest thing for these two characters to truly move on from one another. That's what I would consider a happy ending.
Having said that.
... What the hell is this shit with Nakajima? Liking Rita who is just so far beneath her in terms of emotional maturity, common sense, badassery, and, you know, everything? Hey, we all know H is a little on the dumb side so her fixation on R was believable, but N has SEEN R in his element, loping along with his head in his ass and his BS mucking up people's lives and I'm to understand that she's going to be crushing on this piece of work?
This is beyond Beauty and the Beast, this is like... like... The Harvard suma cum laude graduate and the Clown College dropout. The voice of reason shacking up with the village idiot. Stephen Colbert and a BEAR!

I, for one, am interested in seeing a RitaXNakajima, its one of those real life instances, when the best friend suddenly starts to like her best friend's love.

Hmm like the other comments, I don't know how to feel for this manga anymore. It seems as though the author is throwing the plot around. The Nakajima thing was really random. I totally didn't see that coming. Rita is just so beneath her.
And guys, I don't think Adachi deserves the harsh attitude for being mopey over the break up. Have you guys dated before? Adachi obviously liked Rita even if she knew that he might have possible feelings for Hatori. And even if she knew, of course the break up would hurt.
Honestly I do not want to see Rita & Hatori together. The author has portrayed him to be such a little s*** that I just can't accept her with him. There is so far nothing redeeming about him. Throughout the series, Rita has always seemed shallow to me. Kousuke has much more depth. If it weren't for Rita's looks, he's got nothing going for him.
And Hatori is such an indecisive b****. She is strong, but I just don't like her character... she's strong I know, but is she anything else? Um I still don't want her to end up with Rita, if she does I will drop this series just because it's so frustrating and unbelievable.
I loved this manga... but that affection is slowly dying..

ahh I just reread this chapter with a clearer head and I'm so shocked at the sudden Nakajima x Rita thing. Like to me it feels as though the mangaka is pushing Nakajima towards Rita for the sake of Kousuke and Hatori... but hey I'm biased so don't hate me for thinking that xD
I mean the NxR thing is so out of nowhere and random. Like is there any plausible reason for it? So far, Nakajima had always seemed to be in a league of her own. She's the voice of reason and nao suddenly, Rita?! I mean I don't mind I guess... I could get use to it if it is developed realistically.. I don't like NajixRita... Im not sure if I want Hatori to end with Rita or Kyosuke, but I don't think it would ever be right for Najima to be with Rita. She's way too close to the RtiaxHatori situation. It's kind of gross.
Its a little annoying how everyone in this manga is hormonal and constantly liking someone... I'd love for just one character to take a break.

Woah, this chapter is really confusing. I have to say, that Rita turned out to be very different from what it seemed at the beginning. He actually seemed to know very well what he's doing and to be well aware of his surroundings. Sometimes it even felt strange how different he seems now. I wonder if the author had a clear image of this character when she was starting with the manga.
Kyosuke is still a bit of a mistery and it would be nice if we have some nice chapters that will let us know more about what kind of person he is.
And I really think that all this thing with Nakajima is uncalled for. Not like I'm bothered by the fact that Nakajima might end up with Rita despite being Hatori's best friend, rather I think that this situation makes this manga less beautifull. I really don't like when they make relationships in manga so complicated.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to next chapters! I really want to see more of Kyosuke and Hatori!

Hatori will probably end up with Kousuke since there's Nakajima (who isn't such a bad character actully, being Hatori's supportive best friend and all) starting to like Rita. I didn't expect such a change of hearts and I admit that I pity him now after swearing and hating him for being an indecisive jerk. Thank you for the chapter summary. I actually like Hatori a bit more because she seems realistic and less petty when she thinks of Rita's wellbeing as a friend now. I don't think ignoring someone who you have been through thick and thin is the right thing to do even if acts like a jerk. Still doesn't change the fact that he is your friend.
I can't wait for chapter 22! Mangafox just uploaded chapter 10 and I liked the series so much that I googled the rest of the chapters after it. This blog is amazing and I even like the sorrowful korean background music! I hope Hatori can stay with Kousuke in the end and just have her two bestest friends (Nankajima and Rita) be happy together. That, I think, is the best ending because she's troubled those two so much with her selfish actions when pursing her own feelings that the two of them finding happiness together seems fitting.
