君に届け - ドキン... ドキン... ドキン... moments
This is like one of the most heart thumping moments for me in 君に届け that i feel the need to blog about it! I can only say the heart thumping moments depicted here are BRILLIANT! I can almost imagine it as an anime playing in my head.
Feel the summer evening warm breeze. Hear the sound of insects whistling. Kazehaya and Sawako walking home. Sawako stretching out her hand towards Kazehaya's hand. (The use of real and shadow here... OMG! BRILLIANT!!! 最高だね！)
Diagonally back close up on Sawako, blushing, Kazehaya and the pair of hands which are like 1cm apart! Next page, first panel: side view of Sawako, blushing and nervous we can see from her eyes. Second panel: Her hand. Third panel: Kazehaya, Fourth panel: Kazehaya with his eyes widen!!! (The hands!!! TOUCHED!) Bottom: An exploded view using of shadow only, view from Sawako's side, just before the hands touched. (BRILLIANT!!!)
Their hands touched. Kazehaya in shocked! Sawako in shock too. They looked at each other. Sawako blushing while Kazehaya in disbelief (I imagine Kazehaya's thoughts to be: OMG!!! did she just tried to hold my hand... *blushes*). Sawako apologized and thought: Ah! failed!
Kazehaya still in shock and disbelief. Sawako apologized for her actions and felt very embarrassed. Close up on Kazehaya's eye, widen.
Sawako said: "Please don't dislike me." Side view of Kazehaya. Close up on his lips, slightly widen. He's nervous. Close up on his hands. Kazehaya grabed Sawako's hand! Close up on Sawako's eye, widen. Close up on their hands, touching.
Close up on their hands again. This time, grab tight. Close up on Sawako's eye, widen, more. Kazehaya, blushing. Use of shadow again! Both hands held. View from Kazehaya's side. Close up of Sawako in shock, Kazehaya blushing, suddenly hands separated, Sawako blushing and in shock.
Sawako was in shock and she felt embarrassed thus she let go of her hand from Kazekaya's to cover her face. One of her usual actions when she's shy. She's shock and i think she did it unintentionally. Top panel: Kazehaya, looking determined, stretched out his hand to grab Sawako's which was in front of her face. Second panel: Back view, both holding hands. Last panel: Close up on hands, held together. Next page, Top panel: Close up on both hands, held together again. Second panel: Still holding hands and Kazekaya moving forward. Even though it's back view but i can tell that Kazehaya is blushing!!! Last panel: Sawako in shock with eyes wide and her hair slightly blown.
Holding hands, Kazehaya walking forward, Sawako stood still. Close up on Kazehaya with ドキン... and frontal view of Sawako, mouth slightly widen, blushing and with ドキン... . Next page, still holding hands. View of the ground, sky and the surroundings. (It's as though time stopped at that very moment when their hands were held together!) Next panel: Still holding hands but this time, Sawako's hand reciprocated. Next panel: Frontal view of Sawako, biting her lips a little and blushing much more. (She's shy but she's knows what she wants and she's trying her best.)
Wide view of them looking at each other, eyes met. Close up on their face, both blushing. Next page, Top panel: Both hands holding tight!!!! Some one called: "Sawako?" they turned back and saw Sawako's mother.
The rest of the chapter is about Sawako's mother invited Kazehaya home for dinner as they will be having Sukiyaki. On the way home, he met with alot of Sawako's neighbours. Sawako called her father and told him about Kazehaya - the boyfriend, will be home for dinner tonight. Father did not reply. Returned home and saw Kazehaya. Next chapter will be interesting. I guess the father will like Kazehaya anyhow. Hahah. Such a refreshing boy, i'm sure most parents will like him to date their daughter. hohoho.

I totally agree. I thought the mangaka was so good. My stomach was feeling all knotted up whilst reading the manga. I could feel her excitement and tentativeness and shyness. So beautiful. Love the way she portrayed their relationship. : )
Oh my GOOOD!!!! That was absolutely stuuuning!!! The drawings alone convey so many feelings that we don't even need any dialogue aside, everything can already be seen on their faces and through their gestures. All along I could feel Kazehaya's gentleness while soflty touching Sawako, and I could feel Sawako trembling to the touch of his hand. This lovely scene has made me feel sooo much! Indeed, how can the mangaka be so good at making our hearts race like this?!
